CTOnews.com, January 11, according to a recent report released by market research firm CIRP, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro contribute nearly 3/4 of Apple's PC business sales, while desktop models account for only 26%.

The data show that the MacBook Pro accounts for 54% of sales of Apple laptops and is the most popular Mac device among consumers.

When it comes to desktops, iMac accounts for nearly 50 per cent of all sales, while Mac Pro accounts for 43 per cent. Mac mini and Mac Studio account for only 4% of Mac desktop sales, while only 1% of Mac total sales, which is a negligible fraction.

When it comes to types of use, CIRP found that 79 per cent of respondents said their Mac was for individuals, 34 per cent for education and 49 per cent for business. Compared with CIRP figures five years ago, these figures are down 6 per cent in terms of individuals and 7 per cent in education, while they are up 5 per cent in terms of business use.
