CTOnews.com January 11, Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi said today that Samsung display (Samsung Display,SDC) plans to significantly increase laptop OLED panel shipments in 2023, with a target of 70% YoY (year-on-year) to 6-7 million units in 2023.

Among them, Zhongguang Dian is the exclusive supplier of Samsung display glass cutting, polarizer lamination and IC wiring, so it is the main beneficiary of the significant increase in shipments.

Guo Mingyi pointed out that compared with the Mini-LED, notebook computers using OLED has the advantage of lightweight and diversified design (such as folding), so Apple will also launch the OLED MacBook by the end of 2024 at the earliest.

CTOnews.com learned that Guo Mingyi expects OLED notebook computers to maintain rapid growth in the next few years, driven by Apple.

According to TrendForce Jibang Consulting data, it is expected that after 2025, as the capacity allocation is gradually in place, the penetration rate of OLED in IT products will reach 2.8%. In 2026, there will be an opportunity to start to have a significant breakthrough, to 5.2%.
