CTOnews.com, January 11 (Xinhua)-- in its latest quarterly report released on Tuesday, Apple pointed out that since the launch of App Store in 2008, Apple has paid a total of $320 billion (about 2.17 trillion yuan) to developers. In 2022 alone, Apple paid $60 billion (406.8 billion yuan) to developers, roughly the same as last year.

Because of Fortnite, Apple and Epic Games are at loggerheads in court over the 30 per cent platform commission, which also allows Apple to adjust the commission ratio to 15 to 30 per cent according to the size of the app.

CTOnews.com learned that Eddy Cue, Apple's senior executive, said in Apple's annual report that App Store currently receives about 650 million visitors a week in 175 regions. Cue added: "subscriptions on App Store drive a large portion of the more than 900 million paid subscriptions for Apple services, reflecting how applications provide continuous services to users in everything from productivity to entertainment to social networking."
