On January 13, CTOnews.com, Hurun Research Institute released the "Top 2022 Hurun China Top 500", listing China's top 500 non-state-owned enterprises, ranking them by market capitalization or valuation.

CTOnews.com learned that the threshold for "top 2022 Hurun China 500s" dropped by 4 billion yuan, or 13%, to 28 billion yuan compared with the previous year. The total value of the top 500 enterprises fell 15 trillion, or 23 percent, to 51 trillion yuan compared with the previous year. The average value decreased by 28 billion yuan to 102 billion yuan compared with the previous year.

Among them, the value of TSMC fell 860 billion, replacing Tencent as the highest value private enterprise in China with 2.8 trillion yuan; Tencent's value fell 1.4 trillion, retreating to second place with 2.5 trillion yuan; and Alibaba's value fell nearly 1 trillion yuan to keep third with 1.5 trillion yuan. BYD is new to the top 10, ranking ninth with a value of 778 billion yuan. JD.com Group withdrew from the top 10 and ranked 12th.

In terms of the amount of value decline, the biggest declines in the past year were Tencent Holdings, Alibaba, TSMC and Byte Jump.

In terms of cities, Beijing surpassed Shanghai to become the city with the largest number of top 500 companies, with 60, 55 in Shanghai and 42 in Shenzhen.

In terms of provinces, Guangdong ranked first with 81, while Taiwan rose to second with 63. Zhejiang is in the top three, with 62. Guangxi, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Xizang and Macao did not make the list.

In terms of industry distribution, industrial products have risen rapidly and become the third largest industry of the top 500 enterprises. Health care and energy are still the top two industries with the largest number of Fortune 500 companies. In terms of value, the total value of enterprises in the media entertainment, retail and energy industries is the highest.
