Microsoft announces termination of Stream, a "classic" enterprise video sharing service, on February 15 next year
CTOnews.com January 14 news, Microsoft announced on Thursday that it plans to terminate the "classic version" enterprise video sharing service Stream in the first half of next year. Microsoft recommends that organizations that are still using "Classic"Stream migrate to SharePoint-based Stream as soon as possible, which was officially released as a commercial version last October.
Microsoft plans to ban uploading videos to the "Classic"Stream in August 2023 and "eliminate" the Classic Stream on February 15, 2024. However, Microsoft did not publish information on GCC (government) customers disabling "classic version"Stream in the update log.
CTOnews.com understands that Microsoft recommends these organizations migrate to SharePoint based Stream services. Microsoft highlighted a number of advantages, including the ability to run video in Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams, Office.com, Yammer, Viva, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
