CTOnews.com, January 14, Tianhui Aerospace official said that its self-developed new open cycle engine "Xiaolong 1" and 500N new non-toxic and environmentally friendly attitude and orbit control engine have carried out ignition tests in Tongchuan test base and achieved complete success.

The two reusable engines are technologically advanced, filling in the current international gap in the field of liquid rocket engines. At the same time, significant progress has also been made in the development of the 100-ton hybrid cycle engine of "Honglong 1" in Tianhui Aerospace, and its fuel semi-system has been assembled and tested, and has the conditions for commissioning.

At 6: 00 p.m. on January 11, 2023, Xiaolong 1, a new open cycle engine independently developed by Shaanxi Tianhui Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., and a new 500N non-toxic and environmentally friendly attitude and orbit control engine were ignited at Tongchuan test base at 6 p.m. on January 11, 2023, which further verified the start-up characteristics and steady-state working performance of the two new engines, which means that the type spectrum layout of Tianhui aerospace products has achieved phased results. This will lay a solid foundation for the future research and development of commercial carrier rockets.

CTOnews.com learned from the official that the two engines for the ignition test were independently developed by Tianhui Aerospace.

According to reports, Xiaolong-1 adopts the unique patented technology of staged combustion and extraction cycle in Tianhui Aerospace, which has the characteristics of high thrust-to-mass ratio, high combustion stability, extremely simple system, and high inherent reliability.

It is worth mentioning that the ignition test of the 500N new non-toxic and environmentally friendly attitude and rail control engine is carried out for the first time, and the engine adopts integrated self-pressurized supply technology. it has the characteristics of high combustion chamber pressure, high performance, simple system control, non-toxic and environmental protection of propellant and so on.
