DSCC: the price of LCD TV panel is expected to remain unchanged in January and begin to rise slowly in March.
CTOnews.com January 15 news, DSCC's latest report shows that LCD TV panel prices rebounded briefly in the fourth quarter after bottoming out in September 2022, and prices seem to be in a pressure level pattern. There was no change in December 2022 and January 2023. Although most size prices increased in the fourth quarter, the increase was modest.
Prices for all six screen sizes it tracks were unchanged in December, and the average price in the fourth quarter was only 0.5% higher than the average price in the third quarter, the report said.
DSCC said prices were expected to remain unchanged again in January and begin to rise slowly in the last month of the first quarter (March 2023), as excess inventory in the supply chain was eventually depleted on average in the first quarter.
On average, DSCC expects March prices to be 3.6 per cent higher than December prices, and prices in the first quarter of 2023 to be 2.5 per cent higher than those in the fourth quarter of 2022.
CTOnews.com has learned that DSCC expects the industry to recover to some extent after excess inventory in the display supply chain is cleared. However, as it will take some time for the overall market demand to recover, it is not very certain that the elimination of inventory means that panel prices continue to rise.
