The surrounding road has been renamed "Samsung Highway", and the new Samsung semiconductor plant in Texas is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

CTOnews.com January 16, Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Division head Kyung Kye-hyun said on personal Instagram on Friday that the construction of the new semiconductor plant in Taylor, Texas, is progressing smoothly and will be completed within this year as planned.

"the new semiconductor plant in Taylor is going according to plan," he said in Instagram. "the plant is expected to be completed by the end of this year and start producing the best products next year."

Qing Guixian also shared a photo with Williamson County County Judge Bill Gravell in her Instagram post, with the two holding "Samsung Highway" road signs.

CTOnews.com small class: the Williamson County Commissioners Court Court announced in December last year that the road formerly known as "Future County Road" near Samsung Taylor's new semiconductor plant was renamed "Samsung Highway".

Samsung finalised the construction of a $17 billion advanced chip factory in the city in November 2021 to "power the next generation of innovation and technology and advance advanced logic semiconductor solutions".

It takes into account a variety of factors in selecting the site, such as "local semiconductor ecosystem, infrastructure stability, local government support and community development opportunities". It is also close to Samsung's current manufacturing base in Austin, about 25 kilometers southwest of Taylor.
