CTOnews.com, January 16, Tesla's chief designer Franz von Holzhausen said in a recent interview that Tesla Cybertruck car production version may use the Yoke steering wheel to replace the traditional round steering wheel.

Cybertruck has been developing for several years, and recently Cybertruck prototypes were found to use the steering wheel after the new Tesla Model S and Model X introduced the Yoke steering wheel.

Although Tesla recently decided to provide traditional steering wheel modification services to users of Model S and Model X, Cybertruck may use the Yoke steering wheel.

Franz von Holzhausen said in an interview that Cybertruck's design was "basically complete" and that the company was inclined to equip the car with an Yoke steering wheel.

"I think the Yoke steering wheel makes a lot of sense," Franz von Holzhausen said. "it's a good driving experience when combined with autopilot. It makes the entire user experience and the internal cockpit simpler and cleaner. So we are also considering using this steering wheel in Cybertruck."

However, Franz von Holzhausen also said that no final decision has been made yet.

Tesla's Yoke steering wheel has been mixed among owners of the new Model S and Model X, and has even been censored by NHTSA. Some owners of Model S and Model X who are not satisfied with the Yoke steering wheel have modified the traditional steering wheel themselves. Now this is no longer necessary, because Tesla officials have provided a traditional steering wheel modification service.

Perhaps Tesla will provide Cybertruck with two steering wheels, and users can make choices according to their preferences when placing orders.

CTOnews.com has learned that Tesla Cybertruck will start initial production in mid-2023 and is expected to start mass production by the end of this year.
