Counterpoint: shipments of "made in India" televisions increased 33% month-on-month in the third quarter of 2022
CTOnews.com, January 17, according to the latest Counterpoint report, shipments of "made in India" televisions increased by 33% to more than 5 million units month-on-month in the third quarter of 2022 (July to September).
In terms of electronic wearables, TWS is a leader in local manufacturing, with nearly 37 per cent of shipments coming from India.
CTOnews.com learned that Counterpoint analysts said the TV market grew strongly month-on-month during the holidays, boosting consumer demand and increasing shipments from India's local manufacturing sector. In the third quarter of 2022, the top five Indian manufacturers shipped more than 55 per cent of locally made televisions.
According to reports, in areas such as smartwatches, TWS and tablet computers, India's local manufacturing industry also continues to be strong:
The share of local manufacturing in the TWS sector rose from 16 per cent in the previous quarter to 37 per cent in the third quarter of 2022. Bharat FIH, Padget, Avishkaran and Optiemus are the top four brands, accounting for nearly 90 per cent of locally made TWS shipments.
In tablets, Samsung, Dixon and Wingtech shipped more than 90 per cent of their products locally.
In smartwatch, Optiemus dominates local manufacturing, with shipments of more than 90 per cent.
