Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Apple Lisa, the computer History Museum publishes its source code
CTOnews.com, January 20 (Xinhua)-- the computer History Museum, headquartered in Mountain View, California, today released all the source code, including systems and applications, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apple Lisa.
CTOnews.com Lecture: the Apple Lisa system was released on January 19, 1983. At the beginning of its release, the Apple Lisa system was only available to business users, and the price was close to $10000.
With such high prices, software / floppy disks and many other problems, Apple Lisa is not commercially successful. Two years after its launch, Apple Lisa was replaced by the more affordable Apple Macintosh and Lisa 2, but Apple Lisa is known for its innovative use of its graphical user interface (GUI).
Apple Lisa has built-in processing tools such as text, spreadsheets and charts. GUI was inspired by Xerox PARC's Smalltalk system, but its own innovation eventually inspired Apple's future operating system and Microsoft's Windows software.
The computer History Museum is holding an exhibition on the theme "Art of Code" (Art of Code), which mainly introduces the important codes that drive major developments in the computer field. The awards ceremony will be held online / offline simultaneously at 7: 00 p.m. Pacific time on January 31.
