CTOnews.com January 26, Tesla Cybertruck limited production is scheduled to begin this summer, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in the fourth quarter of 2022 earnings conference call.

During Tesla's fourth-quarter and full-year 2022 earnings call, Musk and Tesla were asked whether the all-electric Cybertruck still plans to start production in early 2023. Musk replied:

"We do hope to start production sometime this summer, but I always play down the start of production because production is always very slow."

Tesla also said at his shareholders' meeting that production of Cybertruck "is still expected to start later this year".

Musk points out that the start of car production is relatively unimportant because production increases over time. The start is always slow, and as the company improves its car manufacturing process, things will get better over time.

Mass production is the most important because Tesla has to deal with the huge orders received by Cybertruck for 1.5 million cars since its launch in 2019. Musk pointed out that Cybertruck production will begin in 2024, later than previously expected at the end of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Tesla began to install equipment that would be used to produce Cybertruck, such as castings and final body workshops, but mass production would come in 2024. In January this year, the drone inspected Tesla's super factory in Texas and showed that the IDRA 9000-ton Giga Press die-casting machine would be used for the Cybertruck body and was being quickly assembled. IDRA also provides Tesla with a 6000-ton Giga Press die-casting machine for forming front and rear body bottom castings of Model Y.

Recently, Cybertrucks moulds have been shipped to a super factory in Texas. The bill of lading shows that the mold arrived in the United States on January 16 and was removed and shipped to the factory two days later.

According to the financial report, Tesla's total revenue in the fourth quarter of 2022 was $24.3 billion, up 37% from the same period last year; net profit belonging to Tesla's common shareholders was $3.7 billion, up 59% from the same period last year; and adjusted earnings per share was $1.07, up 57% from the same period last year.
