CTOnews.com, January 26 (Xinhua) Samsung offers the ability to control cameras on its smartphones through a paired Galaxy Watch. Previously, Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series watches added zoom control, and now the new function is being extended to the Galaxy Watch 4 series.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic have begun new software updates that add the ability to adjust the camera's zoom control through the camera controller application. However, to use this feature, the connected smartwatch needs to run One UI 5.1, which has not been released for any Galaxy smartphone. The One UI 5.1 update is expected to be released a few days after the release of the Galaxy S23 series.

The update also brings new device diagnostic tools and some stability fixes. The new diagnostic tool allows you to check that smartwatch components, such as battery status, display, microphone, speakers and charging, are working as expected. To use the new features, users need to use Samsung Members applications on connected smartphones.

CTOnews.com learned that the firmware version of the Galaxy Watch 4 series software update is micro-R8x0XXU1GWA3, and the download size is 329MB. This update also brings a January 2023 security patch for Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The new software update goes hand in hand with the update of the Galaxy Wearable application.
