CTOnews.com January 28, Nikon recently released firmware version 2.40 of the Z 50 microcamera. After this update, eye detection autofocus is now available during video recording; improved eye detection performance of [automatic region AF]; and improved refresh rate of focus displayed in instant scene during object tracking and face / eye detection autofocus.

CTOnews.com learned that Nikon's compact digital micro-camera Z 50 was released in 2019 and is Nikon's first Z-card DX format micro-single digital camera. With about 20.88 million effective pixels, the Z 50 is a Nikon DX format digital micro-single camera equipped with CMOS sensors and focal plane phase detection autofocus pixels. By using this image sensor and EXPEED 6 image processor, the ISO100-51200 * wide standard ISO sensitivity range can be achieved, thus providing good image quality with less noise throughout the range.

The Z-50 is equipped with a foldable TFT touch LCD screen with about 8cm (about 3.2in) and about 1.4m picture points, which supports the touch screen operation familiar to smartphone users. The adjustable angle of the foldable display screen is large, it can record photos and videos from a variety of angles, and it also supports selfies. The Z 50 can also record full-screen 4K UHD video. In addition, photos and videos recorded by the camera can be transferred to a mobile smart device using the Nihon SnapBridge application.
