CTOnews.com, January 28 (Xinhua)-- Apple is speeding up the development of iOS 17 and other new updates to be released this year. According to 9to5 Mac, Apple has pushed some updates to open source documents referencing iOS 17.

Every year, Apple prepares new iOS, macOS and watchOS updates in advance and uploads references to various open source repositories. This year is no exception. Apple has added references to iOS 17, watchOS 10 and macOS 14. Usually, Apple will call a future version "TBA" to hide its actual version number, but sometimes references will be leaked.

IOS 17 usage has risen sharply in Google Analytics data since early December, marking an increase in the number of people testing iOS 17 internally at Apple.

CTOnews.com has learned that iOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, iPadOS 17 and tvOS 17 are expected to be released on WWDC 2023 in June and official versions in September and October. According to reports, this year, these updates will also be accompanied by Apple's Reality Pro Touxian launch, which will introduce a new operating system for Apple's product line.

Apple has not yet announced a date for the WWDC2023, and it is not clear whether it will be an offline or mixed virtual event.

As Apple focuses on Reality Pro headsets and software development, Bloomberg reported that iOS 17 will have "fewer major changes than originally planned." According to reports, the same applies to iPadOS 17 and macOS 14. Gurman calls it "Sunburst".
