Win11 22H2 welcomes the update of the network experience package: bring full-screen widgets to all PC
CTOnews.com, January 29, Microsoft is releasing a new update to enable full-screen widget mode in Windows 11 22H2.
On Windows 11, you can open the widget board through the taskbar with a small component icon next to the start menu. Click to open the panel, which opens on the left side of the screen by default.
If you are using Windows 11 22H2, a new Windows Web experience package (423.2300.0.0) is now available for download in the Microsoft Store. This update adds a new "expand" button to the upper right of the widget board. When the button is clicked, the widget opens full screen on the desktop.
According to internal information, the use of full-screen widgets in Windows 11 has not skyrocketed since Windows 11 22H2. However, Microsoft believes that widgets are a trend and has no plans to abandon this feature any time soon. This is probably why there will be a major upgrade of the widget in the near future, that is, support for third-party widgets.
It is reported that the first third-party widget comes from Facebook and allows users to view Messenger conversations directly on the widget board.
CTOnews.com has learned that support for third-party gadgets is currently limited to testers in the Windows Insider program, but is expected to be rolled out more widely later this year.
