Geely applies for Intelligent cockpit Patent: fireworks display on car windshield

CTOnews.com January 29 news, According to the official website of the State Intellectual Property Office information, January 24, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd., Geely Automobile Research Institute (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. applied for "In the smart cockpit to realize fireworks show method and smart cockpit" patent announced.

CTOnews.com learned that the patent abstract shows that the method comprises: acquiring a first image of a scene in front of the vehicle in a parking state of the vehicle, identifying and analyzing the first image to obtain at least one real scene feature, assigning at least one parameter of a fireworks display model according to the real scene feature; generating a dynamic image and audio of fireworks display through the fireworks display model, and fusing the dynamic image with the first image to generate a second image; projecting the second image on the front windshield of the vehicle and playing audio through an audio playback device of the vehicle.

This scheme can realize fireworks show based on real scene in smart cockpit, which improves the interest of smart cockpit.

From the patent point of view, Geely's idea is to combine the fireworks show video with the live video in front of the car, and project the fireworks show effect on the windshield. The current HUD projection range and intelligence level considered cannot achieve this effect. To realize this patent, a dedicated projector is necessary.
