Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Coje_He and Nintendo for their tearless clues! CTOnews.com, January 29 (Xinhua) Tomb Raider, a classic game IP, has been adapted into four films, the first three of which played Laura by Angelina Jolie, all released in the 2000s. Alicia Vikander played Laura in 2018, but the response was lacklustre.

▲ Angelina Jolie plays Laura according to the latest news, Hollywood may try to make Tomb Raider again, but this time for a small screen. Sources in the Hollywood Reporter say Amazon is producing a Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, with Phoebe Wallerbridge, the screenwriter of "Life in London" and "Kill Eve" as executive producer and screenwriter.

▲ Phoebe Wallerbridge reports that it is not clear who will play Laura, but it is not expected to be the two actresses in the previous film, and the show is still in development.

CTOnews.com learned that Tomb Raider was originally an action adventure game launched by British gaming company Core Design in 1996 and has since expanded into a cross-media brand. Ownership of the series was transferred to Skewell Anix between Eidos,2009 and 2021 and to Crystal Power in 2022.

Since the release of the Tomb Raider series in early 1996, the total sales have exceeded 95 million. The new Tomb Raider game was announced in April 2022. Crystal Dynamics says it will no longer use its own Foundation engine, but will use Unreal engine 5 instead. In addition, Amazon will take over the release of the game, which seems to be a good move along with the Tomb Raider series.
