CTOnews.com, January 30 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft Teams is an online communications and collaboration software. The company maintains regular updates and upgrades to the software, constantly bringing new features.

Microsoft will add birthdays, career changes and pending meeting invitations to its Teams profile card. However, this is not the only feature planned. Microsoft recently updated the Microsoft 365roadmap and is about to launch a series of new features.

First, Microsoft Teams will conduct "ultrasonic howling detection" on Windows and Mac. When multiple people attend Teams meetings with their own microphones and speakers in the same room, echoes and "howling" sounds are generated due to audio feedback loops. Microsoft can solve this problem by automatically detecting whether there is more than one laptop nearby attending the same meeting and whether at least one laptop turns on the microphone. When these conditions are met, the participants after the first will be notified, and their microphones and speakers will be automatically muted when they join the meeting.

In addition, Teams on Windows and Mac will receive support for the "explicit recording consent" policy. Audio, video, and content shared on the screen will not be recorded until the user agrees.

At the same time, Microsoft Teams administrators will also be able to use more concise UI in Teams management centers on the network. Left navigation items that are not used frequently are hidden by default, but administrators can pin them again as needed.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft Teams has some better enhancements. The emergency location used to route emergency calls will be automatically suggested, and you can join the meeting from Apple CarPlay's calendar view on iPhone, as well as more customized options for real-time subtitles, including the ability to scroll to the previous subtitle until a minute ago. Finally, Teams customers on the government cloud will be able to send, view, record, and review short Teams video clips.

All of these features are scheduled to be fully launched in March 2023, but the current timetable mentioned in the Microsoft 365 roadmap is tentative and may be delayed.
