Sources say Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will not participate in E3 2023
CTOnews.com, January 31, IGN has learned from multiple sources that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will not participate in the E3 2023 and will not set up booths in the showroom of the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 2023 confirmation will be held between June 13 and June 16.
Last year's E3 2022 was not held, but this year can be regarded as a reunification. However, it is not entirely surprising that the big three game makers did not participate in E3. Sony did not participate in E3 for the first time in 2019 and has not participated since. Microsoft said last week that it would make a presentation in Los Angeles this summer, but did not call it E3. Nintendo has proved again and again that the company can announce major news through its face-to-face meetings, so there is no need to participate in E3.
CTOnews.com learned that as E3 gets smaller and smaller, other stages have emerged for game publishers to release their big news, most importantly the Game Awards (The Game Awards,TGA) and the Summer Games Festival (Summer Game Fest), both hosted by Geoff Keighley.
