According to the patent summary, the head-mounted device may have a head-mounted housing and an optical component supported by the head-mounted housing. The optical component may include a camera, a movable optical module and other components. Each optical module may include a display for displaying the image and a lens for providing the image to the corresponding eye-fitting frame. An optical self-mixing sensor may be included in an optical module and other parts of the headset to measure a change in the position of the optical component.

It is reported that in response to detecting a change in the position of the optical component, the actuator in the device can be adjusted to make the optical component move or other actions can be taken to compensate for the change.

CTOnews.com learned that Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi previously said that the development progress of Apple's AR / MR headset was substandard due to substandard drop tests of mechanism components and later than expected with software development tools, and that a large number of shipments could be delayed from the original second quarter of 2023 to the end of the second quarter or the third quarter of 2023.
