CTOnews.com, February 1 (Xinhua)-- similar to the popular American sitcom Seinfeld, Nothing, Forever, a sitcom generated entirely by AI, has attracted a lot of attention since it was broadcast on Twitch platform on December 14 last year.

The melodrama "Nothing, Forever" features three men and a woman, imitating the main characters Elaine, Jerry, George and Kramer in Seinfeld. But the picture of "Nothing, Forever" is very pixel-like, with them sitting in their beautifully decorated New York apartment, talking to each other about coffee, Amazon online shopping and vegetarianism.

In an interview with foreign technology media Motherboard, Skyler Hartle, creator of Nothing, Forever, said: "the motivation for me to create this AI sitcom comes from a strange, surreal art project."

CTOnews.com learned that Hartle and his co-creator Brian Habersberger used a combination of machine learning, generation algorithms and cloud services to produce the show. Hartle tells Motherboard that the conversation is supported by OpenAI's GPT-3 language model, and that few people audit the stream except for GPT-3 's built-in audit filter.

"except for the works of art and laughter you will hear, everything else is automatically generated through AI, including dialogue, topic, direction (lens switching, character focus, lens length, scene length, etc.), character movement, music, etc.," the creator said.
