According to news on the evening of February 1, Beijing time, Match, the parent company of US dating app Tinder, today released its results for the fourth quarter of 2022. At the same time, Match announced 8 per cent layoffs worldwide.

Tuyuan Pexels's total revenue in the fourth quarter of last year was $786 million, down 2 per cent from a year earlier. Operating profit was $107 million, down 54 per cent from a year earlier. Without GAAP, operating profit was $286 million, down 2 per cent from a year earlier.

Net profit attributable to shareholders was $84.58 million, compared with a net loss of $169 million a year earlier. Match expects revenue in the first quarter of this year to reach $790 million-$800m, below analysts' expectations of $816 million.

Meanwhile, Match announced today that it would cut 8 per cent of its jobs worldwide. Gary Swiidler (Gary Swidler), Match's chief financial officer (CFO), said on the earnings call that the company would cut costs, including about 8 per cent layoffs worldwide.

Schweidler said the company is evaluating how to cut spending in areas such as employment, marketing and office space, which is expected to generate about $6 million in related costs. As of the end of 2021, Match had about 2500 full-time employees and 40 part-time employees.
