Beijing, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) the number of monthly active users of the popular chat robot ChatGPT is expected to reach 100 million in January, just two months after its launch, making it the fastest-growing consumer app in history, according to a research report released by UBS, an investment bank, on Wednesday.

About 13 million of unique access users used ChatGPT every day in January, more than double the amount used in December last year, ChatGPT UBS said, citing data from analytics firm Similar Web. "after 20 years of development in the Internet industry, we can't think of any consumer Internet application that is growing faster than it." Analysts at UBS said.

It took TikTok about nine months to add 100 million users after its global launch, while Instagram took two and a half years, according to Sensor Tower, an application analysis company.

ChatGPT is currently available to people for free. On Thursday, ChatGPT developer OpenAI launched a $20-a-month subscription service that provides subscribers with a more stable and faster service and a chance to try new features first.
