Two units of the first overseas project of China's "Hualong No.1" nuclear power plant were officially delivered to Pakistan.

At this point, China's major nuclear power innovation achievements, China's independent third-generation nuclear power Hualong 1 exported to Pakistan two million kilowatt units were officially delivered to Pakistan after it was completed and put into production, marking the full completion of Hualong 1 project in Pakistan.
According to ▲ Tuyuan China Nuclear Group, Karachi Kmur2 / Kmur3 is the largest nuclear power plant in Pakistan and Pakistan's first single-unit megawatt power project, which is contracted by China Central Plains Foreign Engineering Co., Ltd. On May 20, 2021, Kmuri 2 unit was officially put into commercial operation. On April 18, 2022, Kmuri 3 unit was successfully accepted temporarily.
Since the commercial operation, the Kmur2 / Kmur3 unit project has provided more than 60,000 local jobs in the whole cycle, and has generated nearly 20 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, meeting the annual production and domestic electricity needs of the local population of 2 million. The environmental benefit is equivalent to planting 140 million trees, promoting Pakistan's local people's livelihood and economic development. It is of great significance to optimize Pakistan's energy structure, promote the realization of the global carbon peak carbon neutralization goal and jointly deal with the global climate crisis.
CTOnews.com learned that Hualong-1 is a third-generation nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights in China, and it is also one of the most advanced nuclear power technologies in the world. Hualong-1 uses a number of design features, such as 177sets of core fuel assemblies, double containment, active and passive combination, to meet the world's highest safety requirements and the latest technical standards.
