CTOnews.com February 6, Samsung did not release a new Galaxy Buds wireless headset at the Samsung Galaxy S23 launch. Instead, Samsung is focusing on improving its existing wireless headphones and has pushed firmware updates for Galaxy Buds 2 headphones.

A new firmware update for Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 has been released in South Korea with a firmware version of R177XXU0AWA3. According to the change log, the new 3.06MB software update improves the charging stability of wireless headphones. New firmware updates are expected to be released in more countries around the world in the coming days.

To update Galaxy Buds 2 to the latest firmware, open the Galaxy Wearable application and select Galaxy Buds 2 from the hamburger menu () on the left. After connecting Galaxy Buds 2 to your phone, click the headset Settings »headset software update, and then click download and install.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung launched its Galaxy Buds 2 wireless headset a year and a half ago, but has not yet unveiled its successor. Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy Buds 3 wireless headsets in the second half of 2023, along with Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
