Beijing, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) Google CEO Sandal Pichai (Sundar Pichai) told employees in an internal memo on Monday that the company will need everyone to test its new ChatGPT competitor, Bard, and employees will test it with the spirit of conducting a hackathon internally.

Pichai also said that Google would soon enlist the help of partners to test an application programming interface (API) that would allow others to access the same underlying technology.

"next week, we will enlist every Google person to help shape Bud and contribute through a special company-wide 'dog food'." Pichai said. "Dog food" is a term used within the company to refer to the use of your own product before the product is released. "We look forward to your internal hackathon spirit to provide all feedback, and more details will be released soon." He wrote in an email.

Earlier, Pichai stressed the importance of testing when announcing Bud. "We will combine external feedback with our own internal tests to ensure that Bud's responses meet the high standards of quality, safety and fundamentality of real-world information." He said.

At present, Google is facing pressure from investors and employees to launch products as soon as possible to compete with the recent popularity of ChatGPT.
