Samsung applies for "FlexMirror" trademark, or for future collapsible / stretchable devices

CTOnews.com February 8 news, according to foreign technology media Sammyfans reported that Samsung on February 6, 2023 to Korea Intellectual Property Information Service (KIPRIS) registered for the "FlexMirror" trademark, indicating that Samsung is experimenting with new display types.

KIPRIS did not disclose further information about the "FlexMirror" trademark. CTOnews.com speculates literally that "flex" is usually associated with foldable screens, while "Mirror" means mirror, perhaps applied to special screen reflection techniques, or to certain screen materials.

Samsung also recently showed off the Flex Hybrid, an integrated foldable and stretchable prototype phone with a foldable solution on the left and a stretched solution on the right.

Flex Hybrid has a screen size of 10.5 inches and an aspect ratio of 4.3 when deployed. However, the screen can be stretched to the right to achieve a 12.4-inch large screen with a 16:10 ratio.
