SEMI:2022 semiconductor silicon wafer shipping area and total revenue reached a new high.
CTOnews.com February 8 news, the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) statistics show that 2022 global semiconductor silicon wafer shipping area, total revenue have reached a new high.
According to SEMI, global semiconductor wafer shipments covered 14.713 billion square inches in 2022, an increase of 3.9 per cent over 2021; total revenue of silicon wafers was $13.8 billion (currently about 93.702 billion yuan), up 9.5 per cent from a year earlier.
According to reports, driven by automotive, industrial, Internet of things and 5G construction, the demand for 8-inch and 12-inch silicon wafers will grow synchronously in 2022.
In addition, SEMI said the semiconductor silicon wafer market continued to grow despite rising overall economic concerns. CTOnews.com has learned that there has been nine years of growth in shipments over the past decade, and silicon wafers play an important role in the semiconductor industry.
