Twitter has seen a big change: the word limit for tweets has been raised to 4000
CTOnews.com, February 9 (Xinhua)-- Twitter today not only announced that Twitter Blue will land in three new countries (Brazil, India and Indonesia), but also made major changes to the word limit of tweets. In the United States, the maximum number of tweets allowed by Twitter Blue users has been raised to 4000, marking a big change in the way users and companies use Twitter.
CTOnews.com learned that although permission to write 4000-character tweets is currently limited to Twitter Blue subscribers in the United States, anyone can read it.
In addition, when viewing tweets on the Timeline, a maximum of 280 characters are still displayed, and you must click Show more links on longer tweets to read the entire tweet.
It is worth mentioning that shortly after Twitter sharply increased the maximum character limit to 4000, Twitter experienced an outage, with many users reporting that they were unable to tweet. It is not clear whether the two are related, but the timing comes after a marked surge in long tweets.
