CTOnews.com, February 12, several engineers changed the Lightning interface of iPhone to USB-C interface, but now an engineer is inspired to create a dual-interface iPhone and add a USB-C interface to the original USB-C interface.

YouTube blogger Hyphaistos3672 revamped an iPhone 12 mini, placing a USB-C interface on one side of the Lightning port and creating a dual-interface iPhone. To accomplish this feat, they took the iPhone apart, made a hole in the bottom, placed a new USB-C connector, connected it to the cable of the existing hardware, and then reassembled it.

In the end, the blogger created a dual-interface iPhone, both of which are fully functional and can successfully connect iPhone to iTunes.

Although the iPhone of the two interfaces looks strange, some netizens pointed out that one of the benefits of this dual-interface design is that "you can use headphones and charge at the same time, just like in 2016." The netizen means that iPhone 7 canceled the headphone Jack, causing some problems for iPhone users who are keen to use wired headphones.

CTOnews.com has learned that Apple is under pressure to switch its iPhone to USB-C, as EU regulations are finalised in October 2022 to force smartphones to use a universal charging port, the USB-C, and India intends to follow suit.
