The automobile industry itself is still the manufacturing industry as the core, and the core competitiveness of enterprises is still to build electric vehicles.

Cui Dongshu believes that electrification has always been the core of new energy vehicles, and intelligence is the icing on the cake. "We have changed a lot, but the core of manufacturing electric cars is technological innovation and the progress of the manufacturing system, so at present our core is to build electric cars and make full use of the development of intelligent energy-empowered vehicles such as ChatGPT."

At present, China's new energy vehicles are developing rapidly. According to the data of the China Automobile Association, in January 2023, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 425,000 and 408000 respectively, down 46.6% and 49.9% respectively from the previous month, 6.9% and 6.3% respectively from the same period last year, and the market share reached 24.7%. In January 2023, sales of pure electric vehicles were 287000, down 18.2 per cent from a year earlier, while sales of plug-in hybrids were 121000, up 42.5 per cent from a year earlier.

Domestically, Baidu officially confirmed on February 7 that its ChatGPT-like project, named Wen Xin Yiyan and English name ERNIE Bot, completed internal testing in March and was open to the public. At present, the product is preparing for the sprint before it goes online.
