According to news from CTOnews.com on February 12, Acer, a major manufacturer of the PC brand, was affected by the continuous revision of the PC industry and the Lunar New year holiday. Its combined revenue in January this year was about 13.633 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 3.081 billion yuan), down 40.45% from the previous month and 45.81% from the same period last year, a 35-month low.

Acer said the PC industry would continue to experience falling demand in the coming months, as Acer's strategy to develop multiple business engines continued to show momentum, with non-PC and display businesses contributing 35.3 per cent of total revenue in January.

For comparison, Acer earned NT $22.892 billion (currently about 5.174 billion yuan) in December 2022, up 21.1% from a month earlier and down 22.9% from a year earlier. CTOnews.com learned that Acer's consolidated revenue in 2022 was NT $275.43 billion (currently about 62.247 billion yuan), down 13.7% from a year earlier.

Earlier, Acer Group founder Shi Zhenrong said on January 30 that Intel's losses and Hewlett-Packard layoffs were warning signs, indicating that the PC industry was saturated, whether for Intel, Hewlett-Packard or Acer, and that the industry had reached a process of positive transformation.
