CTOnews.com, Feb. 13, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said Apple will not launch a new 24-inch iMac until the end of 2023 at the earliest.

He said Apple will skip the M2 chip and directly equip the new iMac with the M3 chip, but the model has not yet been announced.

"before the release of the M3 chip, I didn't see any sign of a new iMac, which won't be available until the end of this year or next at the earliest," Gurman wrote. "so if you want to stick with iMac, you have to be patient."

According to known intelligence, the Apple M3 chip is expected to be manufactured based on TSMC's latest 3nm process, bringing stronger performance and higher energy efficiency than the current M2 series. CTOnews.com Note: M2 chip is made by TSMC's second generation 5nm process.

The M3 chip is also expected to be used in the rumored new MacBook Air, which will be launched in the second half of 2023, and possibly for a future version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini.

In retrospect, the last time Apple updated the iMac was in April 2021, when it was equipped with an M1 chip, a new ultra-thin design and seven colors to choose from, which is the only new iMac currently available, as the 27-inch Intel-based iMac and iMac Pro have all been discontinued in the past two years.

In addition, Gurman has previously said there will be a larger iMac return, but he did not share any new information about this possibility today.
