Youda: Micro LED will start mass production this year and introduce wearable devices

CTOnews.com February 13, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, Youda Chairman Peng Shuanglang announced that this year Micro LED will begin mass production and introduce wearable devices.

Peng Shuanglang pointed out that Youda's LED monitors have exceeded NT $100 million (currently about 22.5 million yuan) and are expected to grow several times rapidly every year in the future.

According to reports, Youda will launch commercial Micro LED wearable devices this year, and TV sets and cars will also be imported in the future. At present, more than half of the vehicle displays developed by Youda in cooperation with car factory customers are orders for quasi-systems, which can increase several times for future operations.

Looking ahead, Youda predicts that its AmLED and FIDM technology platforms are expected to contribute more than 50 per cent of vehicle revenue growth in the next 2-3 years.

In addition, Youda said it would continue to control capital expenditure in 2023, down slightly to NT $35 billion (currently about 7.875 billion yuan) from 36 billion last year. It will mainly be used in high-end production capacity such as Micro LED's new technology platform, which will be pulled up from technical preparation to quasi-production investment.
