CTOnews.com, February 13, according to Taiwan's Economic Daily, due to the continued sluggish market demand for PC and the Lunar New year holiday, PC giant Asustek's January revenue fell to 27.294 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 6.141 billion yuan), down 33.5% from the previous month and 36.8% from the same period last year, the lowest in a single month since May 2020.

Asustek said that the company's inventory adjustment peak has passed, because it is expected that the economic side and industry downward adjustment pressure will continue for some time, the team will be pragmatic to deal with industrial adversity and strengthen corporate resilience.

By contrast, Asustek's cumulative revenue in 2022 was NT $537.191 billion (currently about 120.868 billion yuan), up 0.4 per cent from a year earlier. CTOnews.com learned that in December, the camp collected NT $41.013 billion (currently about 9.228 billion yuan), down 10.3% from the previous month and 20.7% from a year earlier.

Looking forward to the PC market situation in 2023, Asustek Joint CEO Hu Shubin said at the legal conference that the PC industry follows the overall global economic changes, and now the general environment is depressed, enterprises are cutting back on expenditure, and the inventory adjustment in the upper and lower reaches of the industry is expected to last for quite a long time, and it is expected that it will take several quarters to adjust.

According to Hu Shubin's analysis, the impact of relevant negative factors will last at least until the first half of this year, and the second half of the year will depend on changes in the overall environment. On the whole, the PC industry as a whole is expected to be in recession in 2023, and the extent of the recession is expected to be high in single digits or even double digits.
