According to foreign media reports, the three major South Korean battery manufacturers, LG New Energy, Samsung SDI and SK On, are vigorously expanding their production capacity, planning to invest up to 20 trillion won (currently about 107.6 billion yuan) this year to increase their production capacity.

Foreign media reported that through the new investment this year, the three major battery manufacturers in South Korea will increase the production capacity of 135GWh this year, enough to assemble 2 million electric vehicles equipped with 65kwh batteries.

In this year's new investment and capacity, LG new energy will be the largest, they plan to invest 10 trillion won (currently about 53.8 billion yuan) this year, capacity to increase 100GWh. The production capacity of SK On will be increased by 12 GWh and the annual production capacity will be increased to 89 GWh.

Unlike LG New Energy and SK On, Samsung SDI has not yet disclosed their capacity, but industry insiders expect their capacity to increase by more than 20 GWh this year.
