The ability to suspend USB power (also known as "bypass charging") first appeared on Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 + and Galaxy S23 Ultra, and now it is starting to appear on some older smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is gaining power to suspend the USB after updating the Game Accelerator (Game Booster) application to the latest version. When this function is activated in the game scene, the power from the connected charger charges the phone directly, while the battery charge is suspended. This can prevent the battery from heating up, thereby improving the gaming performance of the phone. Users can access this feature from the Game Accelerator section of the game initiator, which is valid only for game scenarios.

In some areas, the new feature has appeared on Galaxy A735G, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 phones. CTOnews.com learned that some users claimed that the feature appeared on their phones only after using Samsung's 45W USB PD charger. This feature requires game accelerator App version 5.0.03.0 or later, which can be updated through the Galaxy Store.
