With a unique shape, the head is less than an inch at its thinnest and weighs only 127g, which claims to be six times lighter than the VR device competition.

The Bigscreen Beyond has a binocular OLED screen with a resolution of 5120 x 2560, that is, a resolution of 2560 x 2560 per screen.

Compared to traditional VR devices, Bigscreen Beyond can be customized for each wearer's face. After ordering Bigscreen Beyond, users will receive an email asking them to scan their faces using Bigscreen's iPhone app to support iPhone XR and newer models.

According to officials, each Beyond is customized based on 3D facial scans, which can measure the shape of the user's face and the position of the eyes. Since each user has a head display that suits their face shape and eye distance, adjusting parts can be discarded to reduce the weight of the device while improving the comfort and clarity of the VR.

In addition, users who need to correct their eyesight can buy custom prescription lenses suitable for Beyond.

Darshan Shankar, founder and CEO of Bigscreen, said: "as enthusiastic VR enthusiasts, we have created the VR head display we want. Compared with the head display since 2016, the weight of today's most advanced VR head has doubled. We built Beyond because we thought VR was too heavy, bulky and uncomfortable. We invented new technologies to improve comfort and developed ultra-high-end components such as OLED micro-displays."

Beyond uses built-in SteamVR tracking to determine its position and direction in 3D space, equipped with 6-DoF tracking, requires at least one SteamVR base station (to be purchased separately).

Beyond supports SteamVR Tracking V1.0 and V2.0 base stations, is compatible with the SteamVR platform, and supports hundreds of VR games and applications on Steam.

To use Beyond and play games, users must download the Steam client and SteamVR on a compatible Windows PC. The head display can also be used with SteamVR ecological accessories, such as Valve Index handles and HTC Vive handles.
