CTOnews.com February 15, Microsoft announced the locally deployed Unified Update platform (UUP) in October last year; a few days ago, it announced that the first local update for UUP will be released on March 28. Microsoft says downloads can be reduced by 30% through UUP updates, further reducing upgrade time.

Microsoft also said today that in addition to Windows updates, UUP updates will also apply to .NET updates, allowing you to install .NET Framework faster.

Anton Fontanov, Microsoft's project manager, posted a blog post on Microsoft Tech Community, and CTOnews.com translated the main content as follows:

We have switched the .NET Framework update to the Unified Update platform (UUP) push. Users who update the Win11 Version 22H2 feature can automatically ensure that your .NET Framework is up to date through Windows Update. This means that the number of restarts can be reduced.

With UUP push, users can further control optional updates. Another advantage of the UUP approach is that users can control optional updates and preview updates of the .NET Framework.

Users can now find the upcoming optional .NET Framework update for Windows 11 version 22H2 on the Settings > Windows updates > Advanced options > optional updates page.

Before this change, you may have checked for updates by clicking the check for updates button on the Settings > Windows updates page. This will automatically install the preview version of the .NET Framework update and cause your device to restart. With this improvement, you can better understand and control the adoption of the latest optional preview version of .NET Framework updates.
