Amazon announced in 2018 that it would use its own Graviton processor in AWS server hardware, while Google plans to follow suit.

The report points out that Google is developing two chips internally, one of which is codenamed Cypress, which is designed entirely by Google Israel, and the other is codenamed Maple, which is based on Marvell Technology.

CTOnews.com learned from the article that the Cypress chip is regarded by Google as the "Plan A" processor, while the Maple chip is regarded as the "Plan B" processor.
