CTOnews.com, February 16, Microsoft today released a new Visual Studio extension called ".NET Upgrade Assistant" to help developers upgrade. NET applications. This means that programmers can upgrade the. NET application without using command-line tools.

Microsoft's Olia Gavrysh wrote: "We are very pleased to introduce .NET Upgrade Assistant through the Visual Studio extension to help developers upgrade your .NET Framework or .NET Core Web and desktop applications. This tool can upgrade any .NET application in Visual Studio to the latest version."

It was not easy for developers to upgrade their applications to the new .NET version, especially if the software was based on legacy .NET Framework development. Developers are now using the .NET Upgrade Assistant, just right-click the project in solution Explorer and select upgrade.

CTOnews.com learned from the blog that Microsoft said that .NET Upgrade Assistant supports upgrading all types of .NET project types, but initially only supported ASP.NET, .NET class libraries, .NET console applications, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications and Windows Forms applications.
