CTOnews.com February 17, Xiaomi will launch a successor to the Redmi A1 phone and name it Redmi A2. Now WinFuture has exposed the rendering and configuration specifications of the phone.

Redmi A2 will bring basically the same design as the previous product, with a water drop screen and a rear dual camera. The difference lies in the processor, and it is revealed that the phone will use MediaTek's newly released Helio G36 chip. The rest of the specification continues Redmi A1.

MediaTek Helio G36 chip uses 12nm FinFET technology, can support 5000 megapixel camera, 90Hz display and MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite game engine, support dynamic allocation of CPU and GPU and memory resources, support global dual 4G connections, and intelligently predict the concurrency of Wi-Fi and LTE.

MediaTek's Helio G36's eight-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor provides the peak frequency of 2.2GHz for entry-level gaming smartphones. IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU provides a combination of performance and power efficiency to support LPDDR4x memory up to 8GB.

CTOnews.com learned that the Redmi A2 will have a 6.52-inch HD + resolution IPS LCD screen, built-in 2GB memory and 32GB storage, and is expected to be scalable. Rear 8 megapixel main camera and secondary AI camera. Pre-installed Android 13 (Go version) system, built-in 5000mAh battery, 10W charging through the microUSB port.

The Redmi A2 is expected to be launched in a few weeks and will cost 97 euros (currently about 711 yuan). There will be three colors: black, blue and green.
