Musk talks about OpenAI: it has changed, it has changed beyond recognition

CTOnews.com Feb. 18, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said when interacting with netizens on the social platform, "OpenAI was founded as an open source (which is why it is named 'OpenAI'), not-for-profit company as a check and balance to Google, but now it has become a closed, maximum-profit company, actually controlled by Microsoft. This is not my original intention at all."

Musk also said that we need TruthGPT.

Musk has always thought that artificial intelligence is dangerous and called it "the greatest threat we face as a civilized society." Musk also believes that Microsoft needs to turn off the ChatGPT-like feature in Bing search. "it's not secure enough."

Musk and Sam Altman and other technology leaders co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but Musk left the OpenAI board in 2018 and no longer owns a stake in the company because of a potential conflict of interest between Tesla's smart driving skills and OpenAI.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft recently announced a further multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI (OpenAI is the artificial intelligence research laboratory behind ChatGPT), building on the bet on OpenAI nearly four years ago. Microsoft invested $1 billion in 2019. Microsoft Azure Global Enterprise customers can now directly call OpenAI models, including GPT-3, Codex, and DALL.E models. Microsoft has also launched a new version of Bing search, Edge browser and advanced Teams products supported by ChatGPT.
