Number one in the country! Guangxi takes the lead in realizing double gigabit network coverage in administrative villages.

CTOnews.com, February 19, according to a report by the people's Post and Telegraph, on February 19, China Telecom 5G communication base station in Antao Village, Bachou Township, Donglan County, Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region, announced that Guangxi took the lead in realizing the coverage of 5G communication network to all administrative villages in the country, and also took the lead in building a "double gigabit" network (that is, gigabit 5G + gigabit optical network) covering all administrative villages in the country.

According to data from Guangxi Communications Administration Bureau, by the end of December 2022, the number of 10G-PON ports in Guangxi reached 645000, accounting for 64.0% of the total ports, higher than the national average (32.1%), achieving full coverage of gigabit optical networks above administrative villages; the coverage rate of gigabit optical fiber networks for urban households reached 221.9%, and the proportion of broadband users above gigabit reached 20.7%, ranking in the forefront of the country.

In addition, the average number of 5G base stations per 10,000 people in urban areas of Guangxi has reached 18.0. 5G network coverage in key places such as public hospitals (level III or above), key universities, cultural tourism sites, railway stations, trunk airports, key roads and other key places reached 98.5%. 5G signals are basically covered in the main areas of township-level administrative regions, and 5G mobile phone users account for 32.4%.

CTOnews.com found that according to the 110 cities in the country announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (29 in 2021 and 81 in 2022), 14 districts and cities in Guangxi ranked first in the country.
