Apple extends communications security to six countries, including the Netherlands, to further enhance the protection of children's information

CTOnews.com February 21, Apple issued a press release earlier this month, saying that its communications security (Communication Safety) will be extended to more countries and regions. According to Apple's latest announcement, the feature will be launched in six countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Brazil in the coming weeks.

CTOnews.com Lecture: the communication security feature in Messages is designed to scan iMessage images sent and received on children's devices for nudity and issue warnings when harmful content is found.

If nudity is detected in a photo received by a child, the photo will be blurred and resources for child safety groups will be provided to the child. Nudity in a photo sent by a child will trigger a warning telling the child not to send the picture.

Apple first introduced communications security in the United States in 2021 and expanded to the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand a few months later. In recent months, Apple has further extended the service to France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
