Beijing, February 21 (Xinhua) just hours after Mark Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of a new "Meta certification" subscription service, Elon Musk said on Twitter that Meta would "inevitably" follow the path of Twitter and charge for certification status.

Zuckerberg's new subscription service follows Musk's example. Some media tweeted that Zuckerberg copied Twitter, providing authentication services for users at a subscription price of $12 a month, and awarding blue badges. For Zuckerberg's move, Musk simply replied on Twitter: "inevitable." Since taking over Twitter in October last year, Musk has started the commercialization of Twitter, launching a Blue V certification service with a subscription starting at $8 a month.

Musk said Facebook's launch of a subscription service is inevitable. Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, believes that it is logical for Meta to launch an authentication service. " The market has been tested by competitors, and most of the additional features already exist, and it doesn't take much engineering time to integrate the new product, creating new sources of revenue at a time when most companies are facing challenging economic headwinds. " He said.
