Linux desktop environment KDE Plasma 5.27.1 release: improved support for Wine games in Plasma Wayland
CTOnews.com February 23, the first maintenance release of the KDE Plasma 5.27 desktop environment was released today. This update further improves the Plasma desktop experience one week after the release of the 5.27 LTS official version.
CTOnews.com learned from the update log that this update optimizes the experience of running games using Wine in a Plasma Wayland session and fixes the disappearance of the mouse cursor when it moves to the bottom.
The KDE Plasma 5.27.1 desktop environment brings support for the NetworkManager 1.42 network connection management tool, and the Plasma-NM (NetworkManager) widget no longer displays redundant loopback interfaces.
The new version improves the Flatpak permissions page, allowing the creation of application-specific overrides in non-English languages, and updating Plasma System Monitor to display information about Nvidia GPU.
The second maintenance version, KDE Plasma 5.27.2, is expected to be released on February 28, 2023.
