A company that makes wireless scanning devices for law enforcement has crowdfunded a consumer-grade product through the KickStarter platform to help users detect the presence of tracking devices such as AirTag.

Scott N. Schober, president and CEO of security company Berkeley Varitronics Systems (BVS), recently crowdfunded a handheld consumer AirTags detector called Bluesleuth-Lite on the KickStarter platform.

"after years of research and development, this testing technology has been mainly used in expensive solutions," Schober said on the crowdfunding page. "We are now miniaturizing it into a consumer-grade product that can be hung on a key ring, friendly in price and compact in size."

The Bluesleuth-Lite needs to be recharged every day, and it is equipped with mini USB connection and Qi wireless charging function. BVS plans to raise US $18000 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 124000) for the project, and as of CTOnews.com press time, it has successfully raised US $14512 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB 100000), with a total of 30 sponsors and six days to go before the end.
