CTOnews.com, February 26, according to the Russian satellite news agency, the Russian National Aerospace Group previously said that the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft would dock with the International Space Station on February 26 to replace the damaged Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft.

The Russian Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft blasted off from the Baikonur launch site on February 24 local time as planned. CTOnews.com has reported that the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft had been scheduled to launch at the end of this spring for normal crew rotation, but it could only be brought forward due to MS-22 failure.

Russian space group said the astronauts of the space station will not be able to manually control the unmanned spacecraft remotely, but Soyuz MS-23 has enough fuel to make a second attempt to dock with other experimental modules of the International Space Station if it fails to dock with the Poisk node experimental module of the International Space Station.

In addition, the 68th crew of the International Space Station is expected to return to Earth in the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft in September this year.
